Not only do you need to know that you can trust them, but you need to know that their morals and values align with yours.
They need to know that they can’t mess around and delay their job because your livelihood depends on it.
The first and one of the most important questions you need to ask is how long those contractors have been in business. This is not the time to cut costs and hire an inexperienced contractor. When you hire them, you need to be sure that the finished product will be up to code and be of high quality. In addition to that, you should ask whether or not they’ve done any projects that are similar to yours. Ask them if they have any references for it or photos.
After that, ask about their subcotnractors. You’ll be working with the subcontractors as well as the contractor you hire. Just because the contractor you hire directly is great, doesn’t mean that everyone who works for them is of the same quality.
